Meet the Puppy Stars Team

Nick

Puppy Stars is the home of Professional Dog Trainer and ABTC Registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB), Nick Honor AdipAAB CTC (Hons).

Nick is a full CAB member of The Canine Behaviour and Training Society (TCBTS), the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), and a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant (CDBC) with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). He is also a Registered Animal Training Instructor (ATI) with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).

Nick has been around dogs all his life, growing up in a very dog-friendly household, and he has been helping people and their dogs professionally across the UK since 2010.

Nick shares his life with two English Setters, Sky and Norman, a cat named Simon, a pet lizard named Leona, two Dumeril’s Boas named Basil and Sybil, and three goldfish in our pond named Gunner, Cyril, and Mabel.

Nick is currently the Chair of The Canine Behaviour and Training Society (TCBTS), a founder member of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC), and a CAB Assessor. Nick is a graduate of The Academy for Dog Trainers, which is regarded by many as the 'Harvard for dog trainers.' Additionally, Nick is a Victoria Stilwell Pet Dog Trainer (VSPDT-CDT) and Mentor.

Nick holds full membership in the APBC, TCBTS, and IMDT, and he is a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant (CDBC) with the IAABC. Nick is also a member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG), a Registered Animal Training Instructor (#01239) with the APDT, and a Fear Free certified professional.

In addition to leading the team at Puppy Stars: Puppy & Dog Training Academy, Nick has collaborated with Medical Detection Dogs, providing behavioural support and training. Nick has served as a Training and Behaviour Advisor for Dogue de Bordeaux Welfare, trained with the Fire and Rescue Service, and previously wrote a monthly column titled 'Behaviour Matters' for Dog World Magazine. Nick has appeared live on QVC with Pet Munchies, worked behind the scenes as the Dog Expert for the final of The Apprentice, and has trained thousands of dogs of all breeds since 2010.

When Nick has some spare time, I volunteer as a fund raiser for the Medical Detection Dogs.

Wendy

Wendy is our awesome Client Manager and she will be your first port of call when making contact and will help you on your journey with us.

Wendy started her journey at Puppy Stars on 1st October back in 2012, shortly after completing Nick’s Puppy Foundation course with a very young Beanie, and she enjoyed the course so much that she wanted to be a part of Puppy Stars and now, here she is, 12 years later, still working incredibly hard behind the scenes to give clients the very best service possible.

Her hard work, compassion, dedication and professionalism has helped Puppy Stars flourish and become the successful, professional business that it is today.

She has a keen interest in behaviour and is also a fully qualified Reflexologist. Wendy has attended several seminars presented by Dr Ian Dunbar, Ken Ramirez and Dr Susan Friedman.

Beanie (2012 - 2024)

Sadly, Beanie is no longer with us (RIP Beanie). He was the Client Manager's Assistant and along with Wendy, had been with Puppy Stars since 2012. Beanie attended Nick's Puppy Stars Puppy Foundation class when he was just 8 weeks old, back in May 2012. He decided that he liked the classes so much, that he wanted to stay!

He was an assistant trainer and video star at Puppy Stars and was often found demanding attention from anyone and everyone who comes to visit. He had a very keen interest in squirrels!

Sky

Sky is now the senior member of the training team and has been with us since July 2020. She is always on the go and is an expert in dog behaviour. She is Nick's assistant trainer and video star at Puppy Stars.

Sky can often be found waist-deep in the most muddy puddle she can find, but oddly does not like going for walks in the rain! She has a very keen interest in sniffing and all things dog.

Toro (2010 - 2019)

This is Toro, a founding team member and Nick's wonderful DDB who sadly is no longer with us (RIP Toro). Here he is staring in a TV Advert that can now be found on YouTube

Norman

Norman is the newest member of the team and has been with us since June 2023. He is always on the go and is becoming an expert in dog behaviour. Norman is a video star at Puppy Stars and has his own Facebook group for all his fans!

Norman can often be found annoying Sky with his endless energy. He has a very keen interest in sniffing and all things dog, just like Sky.
